REFLECTIONS ON BARRIERS TO JUSTICE

EPISODE 2

EPISODE 2 – Reflections on Barriers to Justice

MFG hosts a liberated and thought-provoking conversation with Ms. Maleeka Jihad aka “MJ”. During this Audio Nugget, MJ reveals what humanity means as she paints a picture of the parallels between domestic violence and our child protection system. This exchange uncovers a few of the drivers that fueled the recent article: “Structures of Oppression in the U.S. Child Protection System: Reflections on Administrative Barriers to Equity (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/358592070_Structures_of_Oppression_in_the_US_Child_Welfare_System_Reflections_on_Administrative_Barriers_to_Equity).”

MJ leaves you with this to consider:
1) How are you causing harm and what are you willing to sacrifice?
2) Are you supporting or policing Black communities?
